Job Description

Volt is looking for 4 Warehouse Associates for a Global Logistics company in Elk Grove Village.

Work Schedule:

7am-6pm Monday – Friday, Sometimes Saturdays if necessary (minimum 8hrs, plus overtime if necessary, employee must be flexible)

  • Two 15min breaks: 10am & 3pm
  • One-hour Lunch break: 12pm-1pm
  • Dress code no sweat pants, gym shorts, tank tops and must wear safety shoes/steel toe

Hourly rate: $13-16 (based on experience & skills)

Job description is not limited to picking, packaging or forklift operating. Employee must be able to help in all areas of the operations not one set position general warehouse operations.



•          ACCURACY - Detail oriented, can pick correct orders and double check own work, part numbers consist of a sequence of 8–12 characters of letters and numbers combination for example: 949 344-40REVF (for pick and pack operations). As well as check inbound freight with packing list to ensure all freight is received correctly.

•          ATTENDANCE - Show up every day and on time. Limited call offs. We have some overtime during the week if they can help when needed and some Saturdays as well.

•          FLEXIBLE - Flexible hours and willing to adapt to help in various departments shipping receiving, picking and packing, forklift operations. Able to multitask and complete job responsibilities.

•          OWNERSHIP - Take ownership in your duties and job responsibilities, meet deadlines for shipping.

•          QUALITIES - Self-motivated individuals that can work well with others and help improve operations. Energetic personality, positive attitude and good work ethic can work with minimal supervision.

•        ETHICAL - Follow SOP at all time even if supervisor or manager is present or not at times.

Duties & Functions

  • Maintain client inventory, on hand notices and handle pick & pack as determined by 3PL customer requirements.
  • Release and load all outbound cargo per required schedule and comply with customer
  • All cargo must be checked prior to receipt/release for damage, loss, missing paperwork or other
  • All cargo received must have a completed warehouse/dock receipt properly and completely filled out with proper descriptions including accurate piece count and scaled weight
  • All cargo received must have completed warehouse receipt attached.
  • Required to label outbound cargo (if applicable) House and/or Master Labels after verification against documentation for correctness.
  • Required to prepare all cargo to ensure shipment integrity: Re-palletizing, shrink-wrapping, banding, application of handling labels, etc. as per customer requirements.
  • Building of pallets as required by Operations
  • Responsible for devanning sea freight containers.
  • Attend meetings/training as required by management.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.
