Job Description

Position Overview

This position will be responsible performing all daily shipping and receiving functions including, but not limited to, forklift operation, loading/unloading trucks, raw material planning, inventory, inspection of goods received, labeling, and stocking. Must complete forklift training.

Essential Job Functions

  • Obtain forklift certification training, earn license
  • Load/unload, semi-trucks, panel trucks, UPS and FedEx parcel trucks upon arrival
  • Responsible for all shipping/receiving paperwork including P/L, BOL, PO and commercial invoices
  • Check and verify that quantities received match quantities on P/L and PO and enter quantities into system
  • Stock and label raw material upon receipt and stock in proper location
  • Stock finished parts from machines and inspection in locations as requested
  • Prepare shipments using current scanning system and complete shipment audits for all customer shipments
  • Preform receiving inspection to all incoming material (Quality Checks)
  • Input data into WMS as needed
  • Responsible for daily/weekly/monthly cycle counts of finished goods and raw materials to insure accurate inventory levels
  • Plan usage of all raw materials, including secondary materials such as boxes, paper, etc., by overseeing customer’s forecast and current inventory levels, and report information to PIC of issuing POs
  • Arrange trucks to pick up goods from suppliers as well as outgoing finished goods
  • Maintain good 5’S in the warehouse at all times

Non-essential Job Functions

  • Be machine operator’s and/or material handler’s back-up when requested by management to increase productivity
  • Issuing of purchase order requisitions to supervisor for all shipping supplies, boxes, etc.
  • Be trained to become an ISO auditor
  • Assist other personnel with the preparation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste shipments (Weighing and labeling)
  • Assist other personnel with trash removal, 5S house cleaning and other tasks requested by management to keep our facility clean and safe

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of forklift experience
  • 3+ years of shipping/receiving experience preferably in Automotive distribution
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Good attitude and verbal/written communication skills with all personnel
  • Regular attendance is essential for this position
