Aerospace company located in West Los Angeles has an immediate opening .The candidate will have 5 years experience with Plating solutions in a job shop environment. As well the candidate must have experience in Waste treatment, Solution Analysis. A working knowledge of Nadcap requirements, aerospace and mil-specs is a plus. Candidate to be energetic, dynamic and willing to work as a team member.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Able to operate continuous and batch wastewater treatment systems by using metal precipitation and water clarification techniques
- Able to operate and maintain solution separator equipment's like Filter Presses
- Able to operate and regenerate Ion exchange, Water Softeners, and RO (Reverse Osmosis)
- Monitor the performance of all equipment, gauges, and charts in the treatment plant and pump stations; Replace equipment when necessary
- Operate all environmental and wastewater equipment without supervision
- Keep accurate records for all process equipment's, analysis, and logs
- Calibrate, clean and ensure proper function of pH and ORP probes and controllers
- Operate and maintain rinse pump stations
- Clean wet wells and operate pumps and valves to control and adjust flow and treatment process
- Setup hazardous waste cubic yard storage containers with proper labeling
- Collect, segregate, and transport hazardous waste from generation points to the hazardous waste storage area
- Label and sign appropriate hazardous materials.
- Inspect facility where hazardous waste is stored and evaluate compliance; track accumulation start dates of satellite storage containers
- Compile and maintain list of hazardous waste needing disposal and organize the waste for transport and disposal
- Review hazardous waste manifests and accompanying land disposal restriction notification forms for compliance
- Respond to hazardous waste spills in emergency situations
- Responsible for chemical process tank additions, make ups and remakes
- Assist in other duties as needed to ensure environmental compliance throughout the chemical processing facility
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Waste Treatment and Hazardous Waste
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Prefer at least 2 years related work experience
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Multi-tasking, Communication Skills, Knowledge of environmental regulations, Knowledge of risk management, as it relates to environmental and loss control methodology
