Job Description

Summary

Operates and provides maintenance of all equipment and processes related to the wastewater treatment system. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

  • Operate and troubleshoots wastewater treatment system
  • Inspect and operate tanks, plumbing and level switches
  • Collect samples and perform routine laboratory tests and analyses
  • Run batch processes and manage standalone waste processes in various areas
  • Assist with ordering parts, chemicals and materials for wastewater system
  • Assist with chemical corrections for clean line processes
  • Assist with management of solid and liquid waste haul-off with third-parties
  • Assist with revising standing operating procedures related to any waste processes
  • Research waste reduction strategies
  • Follow all Senior policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or General Education Degree; and 3-5 years of related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Metal Surface Finisher (MSF) certification is desirable. HAZWOPER certification is desirable. Forklift Certification desirable.

Required Skills:

  • Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply a general understanding to carry out detailed, written and oral instructions. Ability to identify and solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Mathematical Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Other Abilities: Must be able to read and interpret chemical analysis reports. Ability to operator computer equipment and software
  • Certifications: CA Wastewater Operator Level II.

Materials used:

  • Various chemicals and chemical tanks.

Tools Used:

  • Computer and software, calibration tools, etc.
