Job Description

Major technology company is seeking a Web Designer with two to eight years of experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, administration, and deployment of the group's internal and external websites.



  • Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, administration, and deployment of the group's internal and external websites.
  • The position is responsible for website development and deployment, coordinating with departments on web-page development and maintenance, and configuring and managing the group's web servers.
  • Recommends and oversees a cohesive website image based on the group's communications strategies, goals, and standards and may participate in the planning of the overall Internet strategy.
  • Assesses and communicates website usage to management and researches and evaluates new technology for purchasing recommendations or decisions regarding web development.

Essential Functions:

  •  Deploys established security policies and procedures to ensure the websites are available to the desired audience. May participate in developing security and backup policy and procedure.
  •   Identifies current Internet/website requirements and participates in the planning and execution of those projects.
  •  Coordinates with departments on developing web-page layout, content, and user interface to ensure site consistency and functionality. Involves interfaces allowing complex user interaction with advanced dynamic content.
  •  May participate in developing maintenance programming for web pages and web application, including web usability testing.

•Typically requires a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline along with two or more year’s progressive experience in internet and website development with bachelors. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
•Sample of portfolios to showcase knowledge and design skills
•Experience in writing clean, hand-coded X/HTML, Javascript and CSS in consumer-facing web applications
•Excellent mastery of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and building in accessibility from the ground up
•Fluent in JavaScript and frameworks such as jQuery
•Strong working knowledge of DOM manipulation and AJAX-enabled UIs
•Solid understanding of fundamental web technologies such as HTTP, REST, and JSON
•Comfortable debugging client-side issues with firebug, web developer and similar tools
•Experience with ASP.NET MVC and Bootstrap
•Understanding of the software development lifecycle and familiarity with modern Agile development methodologies (XP, Scrum, etc)
•Excellent trouble shooting, organization and communication skills
