Job Description

Job Summary 2nd and 3rd shift

Use power tools and hand-welding equipment to salvage and join stainless steel components in a high-volume production environment

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, and perform gas metal arc welding (pulse MIG) operations
  • Perform tasks common to salvage and welding trade, such as chiseling, grinding, spatter removal, and any other duties as assigned
  • Comply with safety rules and regulations and apply them to daily work routines for personal safety and the safety of others.
  • Examine work for defects and measure to ensure conformance with specifications
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Required Skills                                                                                                  

  • Ability to set-up and operate MIG welding equipment as needed to generate high quality welds. Preferred if experienced with TIG and other welding processes as well.
  • Must be able to weld while standing and routinely lift 20 lbs fixture, from hip to chest.
  • Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings (blue prints) with an emphasis on welding symbols.
  • Ability to use welding fixtures to assemble part within print tolerances.
  • Ability to utilize tooling to measure weld characteristics to drive part accuracy and meet quality specifications.
  • Proficient at using hand and power tools, especially for tasks such as grinding, polishing and spatter removal.
  • Ability to safely transfer material using a hoist, roller conveyor, or manually.
  • Ability to perform basic welding equipment maintenance (change outs, liners, diffusers replacement, contact tips, etc)
  • Ability to understand and follow standard work description and process notes on routings (work order).
  • Ability to navigate within Microsoft Windows.
  • Must be able to read and write documents in English

Qualifications and Competencies                                                                    

  • H.S. diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong technical knowledge with good hands on experience in production welding for 2 years
  • Preferred AWS welding certification or equivalent

  • Responsibility for the safe keeping of all tools and equipment that are used and within own work area.
  • Consistent attendance either onsite or remotely as needed by the business.
