Job Description

VOLT is seeking candidates for “Windows Application Developer” role for our client located in Greater Seattle Area for contingent to hire opportunity. In this role, the application technology is Electron hosting React communicating to a Golang service. A majority of the work will be in the Golang service to communicate with the cabled camera. The work requires coordination with camera firmware engineers as this new application will add features like firmware updating, registration, assignment, and everything else that happens when the camera is typically docked at an agency


  • Scale up and understand existing robust Electron / Golang service application called ViewXL.
  • Create a new application that is a reduced scoped version that contains the current “Stand-alone” Body Camera 3 feature set.
  • Add to this feature set the ability to perform further operations on a connected Body Camera 3.
  • Write appropriate unit tests along the way.
  • Deliver TeamCity build that generates an installable package.
  • Document designs for implementation.
  • Coordinate with camera team creating firmware changes to support additional operations.
  • Duties will include working with a developer camera and updating the firmware as needed on the camera.


  • Experience with Electron application
  • Windows installer, TeamCity , Git,Jira,Protobuf
  • Windows production-quality client application development in a major language.
  • Front-end development experience (React preferred, comparable [Angular] okay).
  • Expertise in Golang (aka Go programming language).
  • Expertise in Front-End development including React, Angular, Vue, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Typescript.
  • Expertise in generation of Windows installer (MSI).
  • Expertise in device / IoT communication protocols over a layer like Protobuf.
  • Experience with back-end development.
  • (SDLC) as a skill - Not only architected and developed applications and major features but have shipped to customers and supported and updated multiple versions of the application & areas that they own.
