Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Windows patch management.
  • Assist with the development of patch schedules in compliance with program and agency requirements.
  • Attend program and agency change management meeting to ensuring adequate coverage is available.
  • Assist with establishment of priorities for server patching activities.
  • Review related change request for accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in server patch management to server support teams and supported Commonwealth agencies.
  • Provide reports for management use and compliance based on pre-defined standards. 
  • Participate in audit and remediation projects.
  • Ensure all servers meet Client security standards while utilizing all automated tool for support.
  • Ensure all servers meet Client security and audit requirements.
  • Participate in required data calls and inventory efforts.
  • Candidate will be required to provide support for afterhours and weekend patching events, both scheduled and unscheduled.


Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree with a minimum of 3 years of directly related work experience, or an additional 4 years of experience can be substituted in lieu of the degree
  • Minimum of one year Windows OS Server experience
  • Proven leadership skills in a complex customer-driven environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated and directed with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Must be a team player, proactive and possess excellent problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Project, SharePoint, Word, Excel).
  • Candidates are required to participate in on-call duty.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Ivanti Endpoint Manager software (Management Console)
  • One or more industry recognized IT certifications (MCSA, MCSE, etc)
  • Understanding of ITIL practices
  • Understanding of IT service delivery
  • Knowledge of SQL query for data analysis is a plus
  • Working knowledge of network architectures
