Our client, a company that provides mission-critical, next generation solutions for the command, control, communications, computer, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance markets, is seeking a Windows System Administrator to work this seven (7) month temp-to-hire opportunity in Colorado Springs, CO from 8am to 5pm.  The selected candidate will be responsible for providing support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Program IT Systems in a multi security clearance environment.  Responsibilities for the role include:

  • Managing the program IT system and any processes related to these systems
  • Providing day to day operations, monitoring, remediation, and problem resolution for all client, server, and storage devices.
  • Supporting the troubleshooting and remediation of system and hardware problems throughout the resolution process.
  • Configuring and managing Windows and Linux operating systems in an information security environment; installing/loading operating system software, troubleshooting, maintaining confidentiality, integrity, and availability, and implementing enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Optimizing system operations and resource utilization and performing system capacity analysis and planning.

**Candidates that do not have the below CRITICAL requirements will NOT be considered for the position:

  • Active SSBI and SCI access
  • IAT Levels I or II security certifications required (A+ CE, CCNS-Security, Network+ CE, SSCP, GICSP, GSEC, or Security+ CE).

Required KSAOs

Desired KSAOs

  • Analyzing and resolving complex problems associated with server hardware, applications, and software integration.
  • Candidate must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to a variety of technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Competent with implementing and managing Veritas NetBackup v8.0 or similar backup solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with scripting (PowerShell, VB, Perl, Bash).
  • Demonstrated proficiency of system and network device security configuration per DOD guidance (DISA STIG, OS and application hardening).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with virtualization solutions such as VMware vSphere v6.5, Hyper-V, and Linux Kernel-Based Virtual Machine (KVM).
  • Demonstrated strength with system provisioning, patching, and configuration management of Windows OS using Windows Active Directory, Group Policies, Windows Deployment Toolkit, WSUS, SCCM, or similar software.
  • Experience with Splunk or other SEIM tools and/or applications.
  • Familiarity with HP desktops (Z600, Z620) HP servers (DL 360/380 G9) and Dell servers (R620, R630).
  • Familiarity with security tools including HBSS, ACAS, Splunk (or similar log reduction tools), SCAP scanners, etc. McAfee or similar antivirus installation and management.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting and analyzing Windows OS network issues
  • Proficiency in configuring storage controllers, such as SmartArray and MegaRAID, controllers. Configuring direct attached storage arrays, fiber and HP proprietary hba’s.
  • Strong experience with Windows 2016/2013/2008/10/7 system administration
  • Supporting systems design, architecture and hardware documentation and topology mapping.
  • Understanding of protocols in a Windows/Linux heterogeneous environment e.g. File sharing (SMB, CIFS, NFS), Network Protocols (TLS/SSL, DHCP, DNS, PXE), Authentication (Active Directory, LDAP), etc.

This is an estimated seven (7) month temp-to-hire position in Colorado Springs, CO that is offered through Volt Workforce Solutions.  Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.  Position is subject to U.S. Government Contractor hiring eligibility requirements.  No third-party vendors.  Pay is commensurate with experience.
