Job Description

Our client is a well established vineyard located in the heart of Dry Creek. They are looking for a well rounded Winery/Facilities Maintenance Mechanic with welding, plumbing, electrical and mechanical skills.  If you are looking for a great employer, come apply with us!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Under limited supervision, the ideal candidate has the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, inspect, repair and/or replace necessary components on buildings (commercial and residential) and equipment.

• Requires well-rounded knowledge of facilities maintenance needs which may include:  plumbing, welding, bottling line, construction(carpentry), pumps, electrical, mechanical, and other winery equipment.   

• The ideal candidate will be able to perform skilled repairs in above areas. Where the candidate is unable to make repairs, he/she must determine nature of problem, assess severity and costs, and make recommendations to management.

• Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and performs required actions.

• Adheres to safety procedures and protocol, and positively contributes to a culture of safety across facility and team.

• Maintains clean and orderly work areas free of hazards.

• Assists in other maintenance activities as assigned which may include but is not limited to: painting, grounds keeping, moving furniture and/or equipment.

• Drives forklift to move supplies and equipment.

• Drives company vehicle to remote job locations and/or to transport parts and supplies.

• Sanitation Welding, TIG/Sweating welding

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have a strong work ethic, commitment to excellence, and be self-driven.

• 3-5 years’ experience in winery and/or facilities maintenance or equivalent.

• High school diploma or GED required, trade or vocational qualification or certification in maintenance in a manufacturing environment (food/beverage and packaging/processing industry) desired.

• Ability to perform tasks autonomously under general direction and limited supervision.

• Exceptional time management skills with ability to prioritize and complete tasks within deadlines.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

• Versatility, flexibility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

• Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.

• Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.

• Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.

• Ability to perform basic math and computer skills required.

• Willingness to learn new systems and develop new skills.

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and arms to operate tools and equipment; push pull, and grasp objects; climb, twist, crouch, kneel or stoop for extended periods of time.

• Regularly lift and/or carry objects weighing 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds.

• Valid Driver’s License; Insurable according to company standards; clean driving record.

• Ability and willingness to work overtime and on-call as job requires.

• Bilingual Spanish speaking skills a plus, but not required.
