We are seeking an individual to fill a position as a Wireless RF Network Engineer with a local company here in Spokane WA.

Job Description

The engineering department of this local Corporation’s Enterprise Technology (ET) group currently has an opening for a Radio Frequency (RF) Network Engineer. This group incorporates both the Information Technology and Information Security (IT/IS) operations of the organization. This position will be responsible for supporting the design and development of integrated network RF devices. This position will work with a variety of hardware solutions, but will focus on configuring and delivering the following technologies: cellular modems (M2M Communications), Wi-Fi throughout all business units, 2.4GHz/5.8GHz meshing radios, microwave point-to-point radios, trunked Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems, and any future Field Area Network (FAN) devices. Your work will require you to configure and test equipment to evaluate device parameters in support of the senior architecture team design activities. It is imperative for this position to build and maintain productive internal working relationships with all other business units within the organization. The primary work location will be at various facilities in the Spokane, WA area. Occasionally, you will be required to work throughout the service territory in Eastern Washington, North Idaho, Western Montana, and Southern Oregon.

Additional specific responsibilities include:

  • Support RF systems/devices related to, but not limited to, Distribution Automation (DA), Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA), Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), corporate network traffic, and future business cases.
  • Follow the IT standard operating procedures and when necessary suggest changes and/or develop new standards for new equipment.
  • Build strong relationships with personnel in the various business units.
  • Complete all documentation, engineering drawings, and network diagrams of the systems being deployed for submission to the archives (AutoCAD, Visio, etc.).
  • Gather a Bill Of Materials (BOM) for equipment quotes from approved vendors.
  • In addition to knowledge of RF systems, networking knowledge will be necessary to interface with the rest of the Network team.


  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering Field Preferred
  • Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) Required
  • Cisco Certified Networking Associate – Wireless (CCNA Wireless) Preferred
  • Must have 5-10 years of related experience working with RF and networking systems
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must have the ability to manage work over several simultaneous projects at one time
  • Must have great interpersonal skills
  • Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
